Parthenope University takes part to the appeal of The General Assembly of Italian University Rectors (CRUI) regarding the ongoing conflict which is disfiguring Ukraine, deeply wishing that the call of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, dated February 23rd, on the need to undertake a peaceful dialogue will be heard. These are critical moments and our thoughts are addressed to all those suffering in the territories affected by the conflict.
Below the official statement of the CRUI
The General Assembly of Italian University Rectors,
Deeply worried about the current situation in Ukraine, moved by the beliefs that attention to the construction and consolidation of peace by peaceful means is a constitutive vocation of the Academy, sure that a strong and immediate diplomatic action led in good faith from all parties is the only way to face the complexity of the ongoing conflict:

- Supports the appeal of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, dated February 23rd, regarding the preservation of the UN Charter’s principles and the urge of a cease-fire in order to undertake a peaceful negotiation;
- Firmly reiterates the importance of peaceful talks as the irreplaceable value for the coexistence among people while condemning violence and malfeasance of human rights and fundamental freedoms;
- Expresses its authentic sympathy for the involved victims and the closeness to the people of the whole Ukrainian academic community;
