Further information

All information on the course, from admission to the final examination, for all students interested in enrolling in the Master’s Degree Course in Sports Science and Management.

Admission requirements

Admission to the Master’s Degree Course in ‘Sports Science and Management’ is open to those who have obtained a degree in Sport Sciences (Class L 22 or Class 33) as well as a Bachelor’s Degree, or other equivalent qualification, including those obtained abroad, recognised as suitable on the basis of the minimum curricular requirements for the class and verified at the time of admission to the degree programme. Admission to the Master’s Degree programme is subject to passing an admission test designed to assess prior knowledge of:

  • understanding and management of the relevant tools for individual and/or group exercise and sports activities;
  • pedagogical, sociological, legal, managerial and economic principles necessary to communicate effectively with practitioners of exercise and sports activities, as well as to plan, manage and organise sports activities and related facilities and organisations.

The admission test allows potential students to demonstrate that they have the minimum knowledge required to undertake the course of study and consists of a total of 60 multiple-choice questions (50 on topics covered in depth and relevant to the teaching programmes included in the three-year course, especially in Sports Science; 10 on knowledge of the English language).

A support programme is also provided for students.

Internships and Placements

The degree programme and its entire teaching staff constantly promote and implement activities aimed at facilitating students’ entry into the world of work, through seminars and internships at companies and organisations in the sports sector and related fields.

Placement Office organises external training periods (internships and work placements) aimed at graduate and undergraduate students. Job meetings are arranged to facilitate direct contact between young graduates and undergraduates and those active in the job market.

Assistance with external training periods is part of the broader institutional tasks of the University Placement Office, whose mission is to build a bridge between the University and the world of work and to offer students and graduates better opportunities for professional integration, guiding and training them in a more specialised and professional manner.

Final Examination

The final examination is worth 9 credits. The examination involves the preparation and discussion of a thesis, either theoretical or applied, on topics characteristic of the Master’s Degree Course and/or on any experience gained during internships carried out at companies and institutions. The thesis represents the culmination of the student’s learning process and must demonstrate their ability to address, analyse and solve real problems in all their complexity, making critical use of the tools provided by the methodologies and techniques acquired during their studies. The writing and discussion of the thesis requires the appointment of a supervisor who is an official professor of the Department. The topic of the thesis is agreed upon by the student and the supervisor, who oversees the writing of the thesis from a methodological and scientific point of view.
