The degree in Cybersecurity computer science and engineering wants to overcome the “skills shortage” in the field of cybersecurity. It is a three year degree program aimed at train in the shortest time possible highly specialized technical staff immediately employable in the cybersecurity sector.
The certificate gives immediate access to the professions of computer system security consultant, computer data security consultant, computer network security consultant, specialized engineer in information technology for the management of systems, network and critical infrastructures and also specialized engineer in the analysis and development of applications by the use of cyber security methodologies.
The bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity computer science and engineering aims at provide the prospective graduate students with knowledge and competencies in the sector of system, data and application security. Namely, the degree is oriented to create graduates capable of facing and managing cyber security issues with a multidisciplinary approach, involving the acquisition of theoretical, methodological and technological competencies. The program will give strong knowledge of the fundamentals in the sectors of math and physics and also a wide methodological and experimental education in subjects such as computer science and engineering, implemented in the cyber security context.
Course Duration: 3 years
Number of Exams: 25
Number of Credits: 180
Access: Free
Double Degree: No
Class Affiliation: L-8 and L-31
Department: Engineering
The graduate in Cybersecurity computer science and engineering has broad-based skills (thanks to the courses such as Mathematics I and II, Physics, Algorithms and numerical computation) combined with notions for the deep comprehension of the functioning of an information technology system, also in relation to the surrounding ecosystem (courses like Computer programming, computer architecture, networks, databases, operating systems, fundamentals of telecommunications and electromagnetic fields).
Thanks to more specialized courses about cybersecurity, the graduate student will be able to understand the trade – off among the different possible security solutions – both on a technological point of view and on a management one – and evaluate, through a systematic approach, all the possible options (courses like security, legal aspects of computer science, organization and management of cybersecurity).
Â
Thanks to a broad – based knowledge, the graduate in Cybersecurity computer science and engineering is able to solve numerical problems applied to computer science. The strong knowledge in computer science enables the graduate to create, manage and maintain a computer system of medium degree of complexity, understanding the implications deriving from their context of use.
Â
The specialized training provided by courses concerning security, legal aspects of information technology, cyber security organization and management, gives ultimately the capability of design, develop, integrate and evaluate solutions involving methodologies and techniques to enhance data, services, systems and infrastructures cyber security.
