The course offers highly competitive multidisciplinary training, providing students with the tools they need to understand how businesses operate, both nationally and internationally.
Graduates in Economics and Management can find employment in credit institutions, commercial enterprises, and financial and economic consulting firms as managers or consultants. They can also take on administrative roles in public administrations or carry out research and economic analysis for national institutions.
The Economics and Management program offers a course in which the principles of economics, in synergy with business concepts, form skills for the market and opportunities for further study.
In terms of the training provided, the course offers an innovative, up-to-date, and interdisciplinary study program in complementary subjects (economics and finance, business, statistics and mathematics, law, and languages) that guarantees students an education that allows them to understand how businesses operate in relation to the national and international economic contexts in which they operate.
The programme allows students to learn about various subject areas, particularly in economics (both microeconomic and macroeconomic), finance (financial instruments, methods of estimating and evaluating performance and risk; principles of consulting), business (in relation to the functioning of companies—with a focus, but not exclusively, on small and medium-sized businesses—their institutional and organizational structures in competitive contexts), statistical-mathematical (in relation to the ability to formalize problems and collect significant data), legal (regarding the general principles of public, private, and commercial law), and linguistic (in relation to the ability to communicate in writing and orally in two foreign languages). In addition, the course offers the opportunity to consolidate IT skills.
Overall, the course allows students to acquire a sound methodological foundation in economics and management sciences, enabling them to correctly master economic analysis at both the country and company levels.
The whole programme, the teaching approach and the internship period enable students to apply their specific knowledge and skills to understand and identify solutions to economic, financial, business and management problems. Overall, the course is organised in such a way as to stimulate students’ ability to gain an in-depth understanding of the various subject areas covered by the course, to apply the skills they have acquired in an appropriate manner and to find solutions to concrete problems.
The teaching approach of the programme involves lectures accompanied by exercises (in person or in a virtual classroom on the University’s e-learning platform), discussions of case studies, preparation and/or presentation of individual and/or group work, and discussions on current economic and business issues. Here too, the use of IT teaching tools such as the University’s e-learning platform is a useful way of supporting students in their learning process and of verifying, through appropriate assessment activities, the achievement of the learning outcomes.
